Va report 1/3 & 1/4 2009

Jan 6, 2009

I got back from Va late last night and the fishing has been way off compared
to last year down there. It seems like there are still big schools of fish
coming down the coast, from the reports we got from Cape May there was a big
school of 20 to 30 lb Bass under birds out front of Cold Spring inlet.

The eel bite has been real slow for the last couple weeks down in Va with the
majority of the fish we are catching has been catch & release at the CBBT.
Yesterday we tried eeling for over 3 hrs with all to show was a couple Dogfish.
So we went up to the Bridge and casted Bucktails & Storm Shads and caught over
50 Bass working under birds. Stu & Jay and their sons Gabe & Evan had a great
time doing that for the rest of the charter.

The same thing went for Saturdays charter, We had Todd Willard group out and
the bite was exactly the same. They also finished the day out casting to birds under the CBBT. And probably landed
over 40 Bass also.
We think that the bite will pick up from the reports we are getting from up
north. It seems that there are still good numbers of big fish coming down south
to Va. All the reports we have received are telling us that the Bass are spread out from Cape May to Oregon Inlet. With the majority of the Bass being just off Md.

If you'd like to get in on this fishery down here in Va we have plenty of open dates still available in Feb & March. So feel free to email us or call either number below.
Thanks & Good Fishing!
